Item Description

Set of 10 Moser Water Glasses. Height 4-7/8". Nine glasses in excellent condition. One glass has small chip. Some glasses have a slight variation in height around 4-7/8".
Moser (founded in 1857, is based in the Czech Republic, previously Bohemia) manufactures elegant crystal stemware. Each glass is hand blown, hand cut, and hand polished in a simple, geometric, Art Deco pattern.

The Cromwell pattern was designed in 1911 and was the first on which “papal” cutting, with facets ending in arches, was applied. This style became one of the characteristic features of Moser glasses. Other papal cutting patterns evolved from Cromwell including Pope (commissioned by Pope Pius XI in 1923), Adele Melikoff, Marienbad and Lady Hamilton (first produced in 1934).

Moser developed a lead-free crystal over 100 years ago and continues to this day as one of the preeminent luxury glassware companies in the world. The slogan King of Glass, Glass of Kings is associated with Moser because of its famous clientele, who, in addition to Edward VII and the Austrian Imperial Court, include such people as Pope Pius XI and the Turkish sultan Abdul Hamid II.
