Hand carved by World Champion Carver, Merrill S. Timmins, this life-sized Lesser Scaup is a work of art. Each of Mr. Timmins' birds are hand crafted from a block of Basswood or Tupelo and painted true-to-life.
About the Artist:
World Champion Bird and Duck Carver, Merrill S. Timmins, has 30 years of experience in bird and duck carving and 20 years of experience in teaching the same. He is the winner of many ribbons and awards, including 1st place at the Ward World Competition for the past three years (www.wardworldmuseum.com),
About the Lesser Scaup:

"Two scaup species live in North America: the Greater Scaup prefers salt water and is found in America and Eurasia, while the Lesser Scaup prefers freshwater and is found only in North America. The Lesser Scaup is one of the most abundant and widespread of the diving ducks in North America."
