Item Description

Hand carved by World Champion Carver, Merrill S. Timmins, this Northern Mockingbird is a work of art. Each of Mr. Timmins' birds are hand crafted from a block of Basswood or Tupelo and painted true-to-life.

About the Artist:

World Champion Bird and Duck Carver, Merrill S. Timmins, has 30 years of experience in bird and duck carving and 20 years of experience in teaching the same. He is the winner of many ribbons and awards, including 1st place at the Ward World Competition for the past three years (www.wardworldmuseum.com),

About the Northern Mockinbird:

From the Cornell Lab of Ornithology:

"If you’ve been hearing an endless string of 10 or 15 different birds singing outside your house, you might have a Northern Mockingbird in your yard. These slender-bodied gray birds apparently pour all their color into their personalities. They sing almost endlessly, even sometimes at night, and they flagrantly harass birds that intrude on their territories, flying slowly around them or prancing toward them, legs extended, flaunting their bright white wing patches."
