Item Description

Hand carved by World Champion Carver, Merrill S. Timmins, this life-sized Red-tailed Hawk is a work of art. Each of Mr. Timmins' birds are hand crafted from a block of Basswood or Tupelo and painted true-to-life.

About the Artist:

World Champion Bird and Duck Carver, Merrill S. Timmins, has 30 years of experience in bird and duck carving and 20 years of experience in teaching the same. He is the winner of many ribbons and awards, including 1st place at the Ward World Competition for the past three years (www.wardworldmuseum.com),

About the Red-tailed Hawk:

From the Cornell Lab of Ornithology:

"This is probably the most common hawk in North America. If you’ve got sharp eyes you’ll see several individuals on almost any long car ride, anywhere. Red-tailed Hawks soar above open fields, slowly turning circles on their broad, rounded wings. Other times you’ll see them atop telephone poles, eyes fixed on the ground to catch the movements of a vole or a rabbit, or simply waiting out cold weather before climbing a thermal updraft into the sky."

You are bidding on the cost of this hand-carved bird with LOCAL PICK-UP.  Birds can be mailed, however, to anywhere in the United States. Winning bidders who would like to have this item shipped will see a secondary charge on their credit card covering the actual cost of shipping.
