Andre Guichard

Born in 1966, Chicago native, Andre Guichard has been painting professionally for over twenty-years. His singular use of mediums, 3 dimensions, color and texture, give him a recognizable fingerprint. His works can be found in over 2000 corporate and private collections nationally and internationally. 

 

As a self-taught artist, he has had the privilege of being exposed to art through the eyes of his father who painted throughout his childhood.  His cousin, the late great outsider artist, William Dawson, also inspired Andre’s artistic influence.

 

Artist, curator, and co-owner of Gallery Guichard Fine Art Gallery in Chicago Andre is an artist with a business sense and has established himself as a leading figure in the art community, supporting the careers of many other artists, as gallery owner, lead juror and national curator of a nationwide artist contest with over 10,000 art submissions.

 

Andre has amassed many notable accomplishments and is represented in many notable collections:

 

2013: Juror -Old Town and Wells Street Art Festival

2013, 2011, 2010 - Lead Art Juror - Museum of Science and Industry Black Creativity

2013 – 2010 National Curator and guest host with Russell and Danny Simmons Rush Art Gallery of the Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series – Nationwide juried artist contest

2013 – 2011 Commissioned by the Chicago Urban League to create the commemorative Bill Berry Awards presented to Louis Gossett Jr., Rev. Jessie Jackson Sr., Phylicia Rashad, Rev. Willie Barrow and Patty LaBelle.

2012 – Commissioned by Betty Shabazz School to create commemorative awards presented to 16 notable history makers including Dr. Johnnetta B. Cole, Timuel Black, Mary Mitchell and Maggie Daley (presented posthumously).

2012 - South African Artists Exchange titled The Bridge – Speaker Circuit and Curator

2012 - Featured artists at the San Alejandro University and the Blue Havana Circle gallery in Havana, Cuba exhibition.  A bridge of fine art between Havana, Cuba and America.

2012- Commissioned by Van Jones, CNN personality, to create three original art designed story/photo booths for his green foundation Rebuild the Dream during the Chicago Prince concert.
