Down Dog Yoga is one of the best-known and respected yoga studios in the country. They were voted as one of the "Best of D.C." for several years, and visitors from around the world flock to their classes when in town on business and pleasure. Down Dog offers classes that are accessible to all, and appeal to everyone.
Try a movement-based basic Vinyasa class, or tighten and lengthen your body during a series of more intense intermediate sessions. Classes are held in a heated room to help eliminate toxins, soothe joints and muscles, prevent injury, and relieve chronic pain.
Down Dog's heated vinyasa flow offers a dynamic combination of strength, sweat, and spirituality. Their teachers are seasoned and highly skilled. They will ask you to sweat, twist, open, lunge, reach, balance, stretch, and gasp. And you will, because you will know intuitively that you have started a process that is leading you back toward yourself again. There will be times when you'll have doubts and think to yourself, I just can't make it through this class. But somehow, you'll keep going. Because you made it, you'll feel great. You'll feel strong. When you finally rest, you will savor the victory, knowing that today's progress has taken you further down the road to good health by helping you change the way you live, work, play, and think.
