Join us at this light and airy Broad Beach, Malibu retreat.

What a vacation spot! Light, air, contemporary architecture, all the conveniences of home -- and a beach, too!

Airy and bright, this home on a private road is but a 90-second walk to the beach. The quiet, private north end of Broad Beach awaits you just steps away from the house, its entryway flanked by Adirondack chairs that just invite you to relax with a book.

Skylights, stained glass windows and architectural details bathe each room with the Southern California sun, with views of both the canyons and the Pacific Ocean.

An easily accessible pathway leads to the door and deck at the front of the house, or you may enter through the two-car garage.

Once inside, you'll find comfy sofas and chairs in the living room, which is decked out with a complete entertainment system, including huge flat-screen cable TV, DVD, CD, wi-fi, and telephone. The fully-outfitted kitchen is outfitted with sleek, stainless steel and modern appliances including that all-essential Keurig!

Downstairs, there's a spacious dining table, and off the front hallway, a powder room.

Exit from either the sunroom or the kitchen to the deck-and-brick back patio, with table and chairs and a gas grill for barbecuing. Shaded with trees -- if you're there during the right time, you'll have your pick of plums -- the flowering shrubs are a magnet for hummingbirds.

Guests have their choice of the master bedroom with cushy king-sized bed, a flat-screen wall-mounted TV, walk-in closets, and a private master bath tiled in magnificent blue with a shower, an old-fashioned claw-foot tub and a private balcony. 

The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed, TV, spacious closets, and a private balcony.

The third bedroom has a full-sized bed, TV, and spacious closets.

The airy loft, bathed in sunlight by a wall of windows and overlooking the living room, has a queen-sized futon.

A mile south of the house is a Starbucks and market. Drive a little further and you reach the heart of Malibu and its restaurants, movie theaters and celebrity spotting. From there, it's an easy drive to Santa Monica and points south.

Just north of the house is the Ventura County line, and you're in striking distance of the Camarillo Premium outlets, a shopper's haven. Keep driving along the coast and you'll reach such lovely spots as Santa Barbara.
