Item Description
You can be the proud owner of this one-of-a-kind "Kokua for the Ocean" Wyland painting!
Wyland has named the painting "Kokua for the Ocean." It is a 4' x 7' original oil on canvas. "Kokua for the Ocean" features a mother humpback whale gently bringing her newborn calf to the surface for its first breath.
Artist Walfrido Garcia joined Wyland in painting. Walfrido, who is originally from the Philippines and now resides in Hawaii, added the islands of the Philppines and Hawaii to the painting. Wyland then formed the islands with schooling fish. Musician Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac actually got a few brushstrokes in as well, making this a truly unique original collaboration.
This giant original oil painting was completed during the Kokua for the Philippines event. Since learning that the American Red Cross has raised over $76M for Haiyan, Wyland has chosen to designate proceeds to our own Pacific Islands Region.
Wyland hopes that everyone who sees this painting feels the connection that we all have to the conservation of our ocean and its great whales!
