Item Description

The Kreeger Museum is a private, non-profit art museum located in the former residence of David and Carmen Kreeger in Washington,DC, set within five and a half acres of sculpture-filled gardens and tranquil woods. Designed by renowned architect Philip Johnson, it is among the few examples of his work in DC. The Kreeger's focus on 19th and 20th century paintings can be seen through works by Monet, Picasso, Renoir, Cézanne, Chagall, Miró, and Stella, along with prominent Washington artists. Also included in the collection are outstanding examples of traditional African and Asian art. Enjoy six admission tickets on any of the guided tours at the museum. Guided tours of the museum are given by our docents, Tuesday through Thursday at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Tours take about 1 1/2 hours and are booked up to 45 visitors. Reservations are required for all guided tours on these days. Additionally, the museum is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for which reservations are not required. During Fridays and Saturdays optional guided tours are givern throughout the days and guests have the option of joining the tour or viewing the museum on their own. The number to call reservations is 202-338-3552, Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The museum is closed Sunday and Mondays and during the month of August. There is parking available to out visitors on the grounds of the museum.
