Item Description
"Little Ossipee" is an oil on linen piece measuring 19" x 21" (framed) by artist Susan Orfant of Buxton, Maine. Artwork size: 14" x 16"
About the Artist:
Susan Orfant is best known for her award winning, painterly realistic images of rural and coastal New England. Born in 1970, Orfant was raised in Newburyport, MA. She began painting as a child, and began to exhibit her work publicly at the age of 18. She studied at Massachusetts College of Art, The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and apprenticed with master printer Herbert Fox.
In 1993, Susan moved to Maine and attended Portland School of Art and the University of Southern Maine, while working as a carpenter and cabinetmaker. It was with those skills that she was able to create her home and studio in Buxton. She now resides there with her wonderful husband and two beautiful children.
"In recent years, I have become more and more passionate about painting. I truly believe that this is what I need to be doing with my life."
