About the wine:

2011 Papa Nonno, Tuscan Style Red
Estate Grown & Bottled
Sonoma County - Dry Creek Valley

New Release 6/18/13

Papa Nonno is a unique blend of varietal grapes fermented together with a small amount of heirloom whites to produce a dry fruity wine in a style similar to the Chianti wines of Tuscany.  The blend is 60% Zinfandel co-fermented with 26% Carignane, 4% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% mixed heirloom whites.  The co-fermentation of the red & white grapes provides a medium bodied structure with flavor complexities and color not obtained by post- fermentation blending.  Aged 18 months in neutral French and American 228L oak barrels and polished filtered before bottling.  An intense perfumed bouquet combines with bright flavors of cherry , raspberry and  spice.  Dry on the palet with lingering flavors make Papa Nonno an ideal food wine for all occasions.
