Item Description
Lyres were made from creative materials and no doubt this creativity led to all sorts of unanticipated music making! Thousands of years have passed since the poets of old, and yet, here we are still making music from the most creative of sources!
This hand crafted Hope Tambourine was created out of cookie tins-- just for us! The artist's name is Jeff Stephens and he belongs to Mrs. Wilson --one of our amazing preschool teachers. It is hand shaped and cut as are the fret boards. The tin is recycled and the strap comes from a vintage tie. This instrument is completely playable and sounds just delightful. Here is a link to his creations with photos and video.
