Set a pace that suits you at Residence Inn by Marriott Boston Downtown Seaport located minutes from the financial district. This Boston hotel will provide you with all you need, spacious suites with full kitchens and separate living, working, and sleeping areas, large TV screens and king size beds.
The hotel is a newly restored historical building with 12 foot high ceilings, with glass elevators in the 1900's era subway tiled atrium. It is a few minutes walk to and from the Boston Convention Center and Seaport Trade Center and Financial District.
The hotel is located in the Stillings Building, which was originally constructed in 1901 by the Boston Wharf Company for the Stillings Press, a publishing house. The area beneath the hotel and most of the area around the site, used to be underwater in Boston Harbor. Starting just after the Civil War, much of what is today the Seaport District was filled in and reclaimed from Boston Harbor. The Boston Wharf Company constructed almost 90 warehouses and other structures on this newly filled land, between 1885-1918.
The 1901 Stillings Building was painstakingly restored, modernized and converted to the state-of-the-art Marriott Residence Inn Boston in 2012/13. The restoration took place under historic preservation staff, which ensured that the details of the building's new windows, brickwork and other historical features.
