Item Description

Beautiful wet felted rug by Class 1.

To create this rug, each child chose their colors of wool, then assembled and wet felted flowers. Each child made two.

As a whole group, the class then gathered in a circle around the rug and watched as each individual placed their two flowers in the brown base. Ms. Hale and Ms. Nicole also each placed a flower. Then rotating through small groups, the children wet felted the rug, outside on a rainy day, what fun!

The flowers attached and the base was felted by working the wool with hot water and soap. The rug was completed with more wet felting and some decorative stitching.

This rug is durable, beautiful and represents all the love that this first grade class is made of!

100% wool. 30" x 37". Can also be used as a wall hanging if desired.
