Item Description
During the 2012/2013 year SLOCA Middle School students worked for an entire year on the publication of their very own set of books. From obtaining copyright permission to crafting the book covers, these kids created a box set of 7 books which should grace every home.
The chosen text is written in calligraphy upon parchment, the corresponding illustrations were hand carved by each student using a braer print method. Every student has a page in these books-- their mark upon history is immoratalized through this collection.
After their original work was complete, they worked together to ink and roll each page to pull the publication together. Evidence of their effort exudes from each piece of parchment. It is truly the work of a group fused together forever by the hand stitched binding upon the spine.
The box housing each set of books is the intricate work of Catherine Paradelihan. Her accomplished hand in the framing of this true piece of art makes it worthy of any coffee table. (and who knows, one of these kids may end up as president some day and then it will be featured in a museum!)
