Item Description
Harvard-trained historian and ISB Debate Team coach Robert Fisher will come to your home, before a gathering of your friends and family, to explore and unearth the many-layered (and very dark) meanings lurking beneath Stanley Kubrick’s masterpiece of horror, The Shining.
Fisher, who has taught courses on the history of film and has delivered papers on Kubrick at academic conferences, will screen The Shining, while providing a close reading of the film’s symbols and sundry interpretations. The presentation will feature a 100-slide Powerpoint. You will never watch a movie the same way again!
Item Special Note
The Shining is a 1980 British-American psychological horror film produced and directed by Stanley Kubrick, co-written with novelist Diane Johnson, and starring Jack Nicholson, Shelley Duvall, Danny Lloyd, and Scatman Crothers. The film is based on Stephen King's novel of the same name.
