Item Description

Irena Siwek is a Burr mom.  Here is her statement as an artist: "Visual art is one of the most beautiful forms of expression, misunderstood and unappreciated by many. A famous artist once asked at the end of his life: Is there art in heaven? My drawing is a goal in itself. I don’t create art; I draw. It is an adventure in which I seduce myself. It’s an experience, a pleasure that has no equal. It is not a total apex of happiness, but a journey without an end, a ride with endless possibilities, where good and bad are found in human existence. Drawing increases my heart beat, which seems to in turn compose music for my illustrations. This harmony of sounds and pictures is my world, my life, my childhood memory, my family. Inspirations are mine alone, close and dear to me. Everyday experiences of prosaic life are the best and the most important. It all depends on the point of view. An object viewed from below or above is still the same thing, but looks so different. With a little distance and peace of mind one is able to perform miracles. Living is a miracle in itself. And we only get one chance at it. The journey ends the same for all of us. However we are responsible for the moral of its story. To understand something one must go to the source of the matter. To appreciate my art one ought to look into my soul. I create so people can see and experience my most inner and deepest feelings. There is only one reality, its truth uncovered in pictures. No one has ever done its portrait the best. There is no best. Someone will always try again.  I find myself there now, and only time will show how I portray reality’s face."
