Item Description

Bid on these two bottles of 750 ml wine. One is Lyeth Estate Meritage 2010 Sonoma County and the other is Waterbrook 2010 Melange Red Varietal Blend Columbia Valley, Walla Walla, Washington.

About Lyeth Estate Meritage:

From the bottle:

"Lyeth (pronounced "Leeth" Estates was created 1981 by founder Chip Lyeth, who was captivated by the Bordeaux tradition of blending different varietals to get the most intriguing, inspiring wines. In this spirit, we are proud to offer this original Meritage made in California's Sonoma County. Luscious and full-bodied, it boasts a balanced complexity that only a truly compelling blend can offer.

From the reversewinesnob.com:

The 2010 Lyeth Meritage begins with pleasing aromas of black cherry cola, raspberry, cedar and a little chocolate. The wine tastes really excellent with similar flavors as the bouquet. Be sure to give it a little time to breathe -- we found it might have even been a little better on day 2! Very fruity, nice firm tannins and a dry finish with good length round out this excellent Meritage blend

The wine…

Over 25 years later, we are still dedicated to Chip’s vision of making unique blends. In this spirit, Winemaker Bill Arbios has created this exciting blend of five Bordeaux varietals from carefully selected vineyards located in the most esteemed corners of Sonoma County.

Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec all contribute to this wine’s unique flavor. A brilliant garnet in color, this Meritage is robust with aromas of dark red fruits, currants, and boysenberry with subtle notes of succulent dark chocolate and cedar completing the nose. Flavors of fresh strawberries and boysenberries are lush and pronounced on the palate, followed by hints of roasted coffee and maple. This is a big wine that is well-structured and has a long, smooth finish.

Critical Acclaim- from wine.com

"Fresh and deftly balanced, featuring refined currant and plum fruit riding over a background of roasted meat and roasted peppers, with refined tannins wrapping around the finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Syrah and others."

"This appropriately named wine contains a mix of eight Bordeaux and Rhône grape varieties with no single grape making up so much as a quarter of the blend. Notes of cherry and tobacco meld with dry chocolate, ash and light herbal tones leading to a spice-filled finish."
