About Wizards and Warriors & Quest Zombie Camps:

A long time ago in a land of legend, a small village sent a message across time and distance to a select few brave Adventurers… pleading for you to rescue them from the evil creatures that haunted their lands.

Will you answer their call, travel through the magical Gate of Destiny, and live the story that most people only read about?  Your adventure awaits you…

Campers:  Experience an unforgettable adventure at Wizards & Warriors summer camp in Burlington and Westford, MA. Create your own character in an ongoing storyline that never repeats. Choose your special skills and defensive weapons. Decide what to do next when opportunity (or trouble) arises. Stand shoulder to shoulder with your fellow heroes as you fight treacherous villains, solve ancient mysteries, defend the fragile land, and win long lost treasure. Forge your destiny, young Hero… your adventure awaits you!

Wizards & Warriors Camp has a Day Summer Camp for ages 7-15 for ages 7-15 as well as an Overnight Summer Camp for ages 10 an up at our Westford location.  We also have one of the most intensive and exciting Counselor-In-Training (we call them “Monster Campers“) programs available.

Our overnight summer camp facility is located in Westford, Massachusetts on almost 300 acres of gorgeous land with trails and a private beach.  All of our creative summer camps are owned and operated by Guard Up Inc. Guard Up has been running safe and fun camps and programs for youth since 2001.

Philosophy

Our philosophy at Guard Up! Family Swordsmanship is simple. Every class, camp, party, program and event must precisely follow our primary Three Rules of Operation (3RO) in the following order:

  1. All actions must be SAFE.
  2. All actions must be FUN.
  3. And all actions, when #1 and #2 are met, must be EDUCATIONAL.

Guard Up! is a company created by families for families. We understand the needs of various ages… from the youngest Little Knight all the way up to our adult competitive sport fencers. And since many of us are parents, we place Safety as our first priority. However, in our 10 years of operation, we have come to realize that everyone, even the most avid competitor, also wants to have fun. So we have applied this ingredient thoroughly in each of our programs and offerings. Our instructors are highly trained in our special coaching methods. And our team of plot writers make sure our interactive adventures capture your focus and inspire your imagination.

What motivates us is also simple: It is the excited, wide eye look our students have when they “get it” after practicing a technique and having their coach “catch them doing it right”… and it is the excited, wide eye look of wonder when a child sees their imagination come to life in front of them… offering them the chance to be the hero in a real life adventure they have only ever dreamed of before. This is why we are passionate about our work. We love to inspire.

The Why, How, and What of Guard Up

WHY

Our goal is to help children:

1) Become well rounded and well balanced individuals
2) Embrace learning as an exciting and lifelong endeavor
3) Become self confident, responsible, and optimistic through creative play

HOW

We accomplish this by:

1) “Unplugging” kids from the computer and motivating them to exercise and make friends in person
2) Educating children in a manner that is exciting and imaginative… where exploration and possibilities are endless
3) Providing an environment where a child’s actions have consequences and where their decisions can make a difference

WHAT

We inspire your children by providing the following:

1) A dynamic game filled with physical interaction and constant scenarios that require teamwork, communication and compromise
2) Characters and creatures from real world mythology, literature and history which inspire kids to learn more in order to succeed at their quest
3) An ongoing, interactive storyline in which children’s decisions change the direction and outcome of the story

Parents choose us because:

  1. Our entire event is designed to challenge campers with scenarios that require teamwork, creative problem solving, negotiation skills, environmental education, bravery, imagination, and more.
  2. Through creative role play, campers don’t just learn valuable life skills – they get to actively practice them!  This practice time allows a deeper level of understanding and retention.
  3. Our staff are trained and attentive to your child’s physical and emotional well being.
  4. We have rules of conduct and special equipment to help keep our events safe (with special foam swords and foam “spells”).
  5. Our campers were born to be heroes and are treated as such.
  6. We offer adventures that are rated for different levels of “scariness” so that kids who are frightened easily can opt to attend a less intense interaction.
  7. We make sure that campers understand that this is all just pretend; in reality, our monsters are people too!
  8. The average age of our counselors is 26… not 18!  Many of our staff are parents, instructors and teachers.
  9. We have a Parent Liaison whose job it is to make sure you feel secure about your child’s well being, to address your child’s special needs, and to answer any of your questions or concerns before, during and after camp.
  10. Wizards & Warriors Camp is owned and run by parents.
  11. Why parents may NOT choose us:  We are not a “traditional camp”.  We don’t have horseback riding, sailing, rock climbing, or other standard activities associated with traditional camps.  We are a camp for kids who are beyond the standard.

summer camps breaksMission: Wizards & Warriors Summer Camp programs provide campers the opportunity to expand their knowledge of culture, diversity, and environmental sciences; as well as develop life skills and exercise personal values through creative, interactive role-playing and a positive learning environment. These experiences will enable them to become independent, well-rounded, and self aware members of society.

Upcoming Open House:
