Item Description
A summer week of your choice in June, July or August 2014 on Isleboro Island in a 3-bedroom, 2-bath cottage . Islesboro is a
small and quiet little island in Penobscot Bay. It has a population of about 650 people. The island sits about three miles off the Maine coastline and is easily reached by a 30-minute ferry ride from Linconville Beach. The island itself has not been commercialized like many of the towns along the Maine coast, so Islesboro is shockingly similar to the way it was during the 1900's.
This former farmhouse is located in the center of the island, surrounded by 15 acres of woods in a clearing which has a small Apple orchard, which attracts deer in the early am and at dusk. Many beautiful walking trails and a great place for relaxation and contemplation.
The island has a beautiful beach for swimming and picnicking area, two public tennis courts, and a good 9-hole golf course. There are only 2 small grocery stores open in the summer and no restaurants, so bring your food from the mainland. This
vacation house provides opportunity to be surrounded by the beauty of nature. No TV or internet – just plenty of outdoors, games, reading and cooking!
Islesboro, Maine is also renowned as a semi-private resort community and plays host to some of the wealthiest individuals in the country. This is largely due to the island's natural beauty and surroundings as well as its small welcoming community. There is no better way to get away from the stress of daily modern life than to escape awhile to this quaint and scenic island.
Item Special Note
Available in June, July, August, with exceptions.
