Item Description
This is a great opportunity to introduce your child to programming!
Was your child one of the 375 John Hay students who got to try computer science for one hour this past December? Did you know the instructive and fun programming puzzles are still available online for free at Hour of Code?
Maybe your student* is ready and eager to learn more about computer programming. With Tynker's online Introduction to Programming course it is easy. It uses a visual approach to teach kids how to turn ideas into animated stories and math art without knowing programming syntax. You can read about one John Hay family's experience on Tynker's blog.
This $50 gift certificate can be used to enroll in either the beginner or intermediate course.
*The Tynker "Introduction to Programming" home course is tailored to 4th-8th grade students, with and emphasis on game design, interactive animations, and storytelling. It covers basic programming concepts, and includes 16 self-paced lessons filled with guided instruction, puzzles, tutorials, quizzes, challenge missions, and training videos.
