Item Description
This is an 8' H.L. Leonard "Pre-Fire" Model 50 Dry Fly Rod. It is made as a 3-piece, 2-tip rod for #5 lines. All the pieces are straight with tight-fitting ferrules. It has honey-colored silk wraps over English twist bronze snake guides. One tip is an inch short at the tip end but the has no effect on the action of this delightful trout rod. The guides on the full length tip and the butt section have been re-wrapped with a lighter colored silk thread. The reel seat is Leonard's traditional butternut wood with screw down locking hardware.
*One interesting note is that the butt cap has been made to accept a detacheable handle and the cap is properly stamped with the Leonard Rod Co. logo. This rod is read to fish and comes with the origional gray bag with hanging tag, and brass capped aluminum tube.
