Item Description
Is your child struggling with reading, or do you know a student who is?
Lindamood-Bell, with offices in Berkeley and Alameda, is offering a four-hour comprehensive learning assessment that evaluates student strengths and weaknesses on skills like oral vocabulary, oral language comprehension, oral directions, phonemic awareness, visual-motor performance, word attack, word recognition, reading comprehension, spelling, and math.
Our assessment strategy uses an extensive compilation of Standardized Tests that allows us to establish an accurate picture of each individual's learning abilities. It is important that these tests are given to determine an accurate instruction profile that is not just based on a score, but also on the difficulty, behaviors, and time that it takes an individual to attain that score. The tests are administered, one-to-one, by one of our highly qualified instructors.
Consider bidding on this item and donating it to UMCS, the school could use it to support a struggling student!
Lindamood-Bell also offers intensive reading camps over the summer for struggling students, and the assessment is the first part of the process. If the student who takes advantage of this donation is low-income, they would likely be eligible for a scholarship to attend this camp over the summer.
Item Special Note
Average assessment time is 4 hours.
For over 25 years, Lindamood-Bell's research-validated programs have improved reading, spelling, comprehension, and math for all ages of individuals. They have changed the lives of individuals with all types of diagnoses including one special UMCS student whose reading improved 1.5 grade levels in as little as 6 weeks of intensive instruction.
Lindamood-Bell does not and cannot diagnose children or adults with reading, comprehension, or learning disabilities. Our testing battery is used to determine the individual's strengths and weaknesses in language processing, which allows us to suggest the most effective instructional plan possible for each unique student.
