Item Description
Create! Give your child a chance to see what an art class is like with this gift certificate for a two hour class. For ages 4-6. Contact NOA Gallery at (978) 448-2959 for class choices.
Students receive instruction in a wide variety of mediums (ie. watercolor, watercolor pencils, pastel and acrylic painting, drawing with many different mark-making tools--graphite pencils, colored pencils, pen and ink, conte crayons, charcoal), block printing, calligraphy, Sculpey clay, Zentangle, needle felting, memory-wire bracelet making, tapestry weaving on a Mirrix Loom). We also sprinkle in some art history so that the students begin to understand where some of these techniques were developed. We sometimes use great artists work to do "master studies" where the student paints or draws in the "style" of that master artist. It helps to expand their capacity. They receive instruction in color theory, perspective, proportions and other techniques used to create their pieces. Students learn in a very supportive and creative environment using the very best materials so that they are able to achieve their very best work. The most important thing is to have fun and to understand that there is no such thing as "bad art" or to compare themselves to another. They are celebrated on their creative path and encouraged at their pace.
