Winner gets a free week long class, , at The Chyten Center in Newton! 

“Batter Up!” In Chyten’s Team Titans Math Program, math becomes a fun exercise in managing a baseball team!  But don't be fooled; while this program is rooted in fun, real lessons in math, problem solving, geography, and public speaking abound! Students pair up to serve as general managers of a new, fictional baseball franchise.  As managers of the team’s balance sheet, students must budget for player salaries, ballpark costs, maintenance, ticket sales, concessions and much more.   The managers are responsible for responding to player and fan concerns — and of course, simulating the games themselves.  All the while, students are called on to solve word problems and mathematical dilemmas by applying mathematical and statistical concepts such as probability, mean, mode, perimeter, area, graphing, money sense, multiplication and more.   

Summer Classes

Team Titans is one of a series of hands-on, real-life learning classes for elementary and middle-school offered by The Chyten Center this summer.  Offered as half day classes, two different classes can be paired to create a full day program for your child. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A FUNDRAISING EVENT AND THERE ARE NO REFUNDS.

All winning bidders will be charged a transaction fee of 5% of their bid to cover a portion of the 9% auction transaction fees that are charged to Franklin by BiddingforGood. We thank you for helping with this and supporting the school.

Checks preferred for payment.  Checks to be made out to FRANKLIN PTO.  Credit Cards (visa, mc) accepted, instructions for using credit cards will be in winner’s email.  

Do pickup (below) or Mail Checks to: JULIET HARRISON, FRANKLIN PTO, 160 RANDLETT PARK, WEST NEWTON, MA 02465. We will mail items upon receipt of payment.

If You Wish To Pickup:  We will be at the top of the stairs INSIDE Franklin Elementary on Wednesdays (March 19, March 26 and April 2) from 8:20-8:40a.m. to distribute winner’s items and collect payment.  We are happy to make alternate pick up/collection arrangements as necessary, just email us to arrange.
