Item Description

1 Week at Pusteblume International Preschool - Spanish Immersion Summer Camp

Session 1: PLANES, TRAINS, AND AUTOMOBILES

Ready, Set, Go! Get ready to hop on the Pusteblume Express as we build tracks, search maps, and prepare for travel.  Let’s take a trip to the transit museum, and walk to see the helipad.  Build your own railway system and gigantic streets as well as new friendships at our first week of camp!

Session 2:  BUILD IT TO THE SKY!

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s the tippy top of a skyscraper!  Spend the week building massive structures out of recycled matter, blocks, and magnet tiles!  Learn about the wind and try to keep your structure standing as a city moves around it.  Come with us as we take a walking tour of the streets to observe some of the tallest building around us, and finish the week at the Skyscraper Museum in Battery Park!

Session 3:  INTERESTING INDIVIDUALS

Who are you, and what do you do?  There are many interesting people around us, some people are community helpers, and some people make magic!  Spend the week dressing up as some of the interesting people we see in the city.  Create murals of the people around you.  Have a special visit from a magician and a trip to meet some community helpers.

Session 4:  ZOO YORK

Lions, tigers, and pigeons oh my!  There are so many animals all around us, and so many we rarely get to see.  Spend the week being a Jr. Zoologist exploring the different animals around the city.  We will make animal masks, and noises as we prepare to visit the Central Park Zoo and Aquarium.

Session 5:  CULTURAL CUISINE

Bagels and pizza and hot dogs and treats!  These are a few of our favorite things and they are on every street corner!  This week learn to cook some cultural favorites. Measure, pour, mix and cut to make delicious pizzas and sweet cakes.  During this week we will be venturing down the rabbit hole to Wonderland!  We will be having a special Tea Party at Alice’s Tea Cup!

(Pusteblume will respect all dietary restrictions of any student)

Session 6:  STRANGE AND INTERESTING THINGS

There are many strange and fascinating things all around us and this week will be exploring the strange and odd things we observe.  Come and create something slimy, build something silly, and visit the extraordinary with us!  We will focus this week on the things around us we do not see every day, and visit the Sony Wonder and Technology Lab, and the Museum of Natural History to see what creatures may lurk there.

Session 7:  PARKS AND RECREATION

Come spend the week relaxing in the sun as we visit the parks of the city.  Join us as we walk The Highline, visit Union Square Park, and have a field day in Central Park. It will be a relaxing week filled with sporting games, and a private soccer party!

Session 8:  BLOCK PARTY!

Spend the last week of the summer with us as we celebrate all of the things that make a summer in the city so much fun!  Make ices, craft a lantern, and participate in our end of the year party as we turn our gross motor room into the greatest end of the year block party, complete with bouncy house of course!
