Item Description
Organically grown canteen gourd- cut, cleaned, sanded, burned, colored and sealed. The pod of five Orca (AKA Killer Whales) follow each other around the perimeters of the bowl. Individually drawn on with a pyrography pen and then meticulously painted in hues of black, red, green and white. A dark glaze gives it it's vintage look. The interior of the gourd has been dyed a dark brown and then sealed with several coats of a polycrylic sealer. The exterior background has a light coat of brown dye to enhance the natural color of the gourd and allow the characteristics of the gourd's surface to show through. It is then sprayed with several coats of clear acrylic satin sealer to protect it.
