Item Description

Have you ever dreamed of becoming a Sports Newscaster? Think you have some great knowledge and opinions on sports? Or, are you just waiting for your 15 minutes of fame?

Well, how about 30 minutes?

Join hosts Chris Sedenka & Javier Gorriti for 30 minutes of guest hosting on the PM JAB, airing on Sportsradio 96.3 The Big JAB.  The show, which runs every Monday through Friday, 3pm-7pm, gives you local talk on the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, Bruins and more

Chris Sedenka's love affair for sports started at a very young age and has never faltered. Born in Maryland and raised in Maine, Sedenka started following sports when the likes of Ripken and Marino graced the field of play. After his first two years of college at West Virginia University Chris's sports passion led him to the College Radio Station. He began calling baseball and women's basketball games before accumulating enough experience to run his own sports talk show. While at school Sedenka interviewed numerous athletes and sports personalities including Jerry West, John Beilein, Mike Gansey, Tim Brando and Phil Mickelson just to name a few. During college Chris spent a summer interning at ESPN Radio 1000 in Chicago working on White Sox broadcasts. After graduating with a BS in Broadcast News and an English Minor, Sedenka moved back home and started doing morning news for WJAB and WLOB. The rest is Big Jab history, as Danks rocks the afternoon drive weekdays from 3-7pm. His top five sports are college football, the NFL, college basketball, MLB, and all soccer.

Javier Gorriti started playing sports – and talking about them – as a small boy in the Basque Country of Northern Spain where soccer, bike racing, and jai alai were the major sports. He learned to ice skate at a local ice rink before coming to the US as a first grader. Here he quickly drew notice as a hockey goalkeeper with quick hands, and played his way all the way to the Shawn Walsh coached UMaine Black Bears where he started and dueled for leading goalkeeper in Hockey East for a long stretch. He also played in European Junior Championships. When Gorriti backstopped a UMaine win over Boston College at BC, The Boston Globe reported he was the first Spaniard known to have played in Hockey East. After graduating UMaine in 1998, Gorriti spent some time with several minor league teams before hanging them up while with the Memphis River Kings of the Central Hockey League. He returned to Maine as the head of a small seafood company. Javier's experience as an athlete at the Division 1 college and professional levels brings a former player’s unique “behind the curtain” experience and insights to all major sports. He often shows the player’s point of view that is sometimes hard for fans to see. Humor with a bit of an edge, biting opinions and commentary with a lighthearted touch, Javier is a big voice on The PM Jab with Chris Sedenka.
