Item Description
The U.S. Post Office issues specialized commemorative for important cultural contribution that are uniquely American. In 1989 , the U.S. Post Office issued its first Jazz Fest commemorative "cachet" featuring Professor Longhair, and every year since a new cachet has been produced, each featuring a New Orleans original. The cachets are highly sought after, and the value as a collectible and framed piece for any home or office increases every year. 1996 Doc Cheatham: This Armstrong sideman finally made a name for himself in his 70's and earned his first Grammy in his late 80's. This cachet features hot pink foil printing a trumpet cancellation and a Louis Armstrong stamp along with a detailed pen & ink collage. Total production 2500
