Item Description

You are bidding a Northern California Motorcyclist Safety Program's Basic Rider Course given at one of Northern California Motorcycle Training sites. 
The certificate entitles the recipient (age 15 1/2 or older) to receive teh 15-hour California Motorcylist Safety Program Basic Rider Course.
The Basic RiderCourse is a motorcycle class designed to take the beginning student from the most fundamental functions and operations of a motorcycle to advanced street riding skills designed to increase riding enjoyment and reduce chance of mishaps. Statistically, trained riders are involved in fewer accidents. Successful completion of the course may waive the riding skills test at the California DMV. If you already have a motorcycle license but have been away from motorcycling for several years, this is also the motorcycle class for you.
Successful completion of the course may waive the riding skills test at
the California DMV.


Experience Level:
This course is a motorcycle class designed for those persons with little or no riding experience. If you have never ridden a motorcycle before, haveridden less than 3000 miles or less than three to six months, this motorcycle class is designed for you.

This course operates under the provision of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF), contracted by he California Highway Patrol (CHP). The following policies are consistent with the MSF Policies and Procedures: 

1) Students who fail an exam may re-take the exam or portion of the course or the entire course one additional time with no additional charges on the stand-by basis. After that the student must enroll from the beginning and expect to pay the full course fee again

2) If a student is couseled out by a RiderCoach during the range portion of the course and wishes to re-take the course a second time, one additional attempt with no additional charges will be allowed on a stand-by basis. If the student does not wish to continue the course, a 50% refund will be given in the form of a mailed check. 

3) A self-drop student is a student who participates in part of the course, but voluntarily withdraws before completion, or who fails to provide required documentation or equipment, or who fails to appear on time for any class session. If such a student wishes to enroll again, that student may be allowed one additional attempt to re-take the course on a stand-by basis. No refund or partial refund will be given to self-drop students.

4) Students are required to arrive to riding sessions 15 minutes before the start of the riding session to take care of administrative matters. Riding sessions will start promptly at the assigned time. Any student who is not present at the assigned start time of the class will be considered a self-drop as defined in Paragraph 3 and a stand-by student may be given their space in the class

5) Classes run whether or not it rains. If a student does not show up due to inclement weather and the class proceeds, the student will be considered a self-drop as defined in Paragraph 3. 

6) Students who arrive at the site without proper riding gear will be dismisssed; the student will be considered a self-drop as defined in Paragraph 3. Student who cannot be fitted with NCMT training equipment and who do not bring suitable equipment of their own will also be considered self-drop students as defined in Paragraph 3. 

7) A student showing up to the first class without proof of a valid driver's license or other required documents must provide the correct documents at the first riding session. Students whose drivers' license is restricted as a result of one or more convictions for driving while impaired will not be admitted to class in accordance with CMSP policy. By signing this document, student attest that they do not possess a restricted license. If they do not provide the correct documentation at the first riding session, they will be dismissed; the student will be considered a self-drop as defined in Paragraph 3.
