Item Description

Spend a glorious weekend immersed in the Shelburne Museum in Shelburne, VT.  Up to 10 people will be treated to an overnight stay in the historic Brick House on the museum grounds, a private tour, and a special presentation by museum director Tom Denenberg.

Located in the beautiful village of Shelburne, VT, just outside of Burlington, the Shelburne Museum is one of North America’s finest, most diverse and unconventional museums of art, design and Americana. Over 150,000 works are exhibited in a remarkable setting of 38 exhibition buildings, 25 of which are historic and were relocated to the museum’s beautifully landscaped 45-acre campus. Shelburne’s collection includes works by the great Impressionists Claude Monet, Edouard Manet and Edgar Degas as well as a prized collection of folk art including trade signs, weathervanes and quilts. New in 2013, Shelburne Museum’s Pizzagalli Center for Art and Education is open year-round with exhibitions of fine art, folk art and design and special programming including lectures, live music, film, hands-on art activities and symposia. The Brick House was the Vermont home of Shelburne Museum founder Electra Havemeyer Webb and her husband James Watson Webb from 1913 to 1960. First used as a family retreat for fox hunting, it became a place for Mrs. Webb to experiment with and keep her ever growing collection of early-American furniture, textiles, folk and fine art.  www.shelburnemuseum.org
