Item Description
Here is your opportunity to own a unique copy of From Dream to Reality: The National Technical Institute for the Deaf, a College of Rochester Institute of Technology
by Drs. Harry G. Lang & Karen K. Conner autographed by three of NTID's presidents including Dr. T. Alan Hurwitz, Dr. James DeCaro and current president Dr. Gerard Buckley.
Through text and hundreds of photographs in this book, Dr. Lang and Dr. Conner discover a rich history, describing the evolution of the college from the first charter class in 1968 to its current high-tech environment.
Dr. Lang, a deaf professor at NTID for 40 years has published over 50 research and theoretical papers on teaching science and mathematics to deaf students. In addition to the seven books that he published, he co- authored with NTID professor, Dr. Karen Connor, a book about the rich history that NTID has created.
Dr. Connor, has taught business courses at NTID for 37 years.
Both professors trace the long stuggle to establish a much needed technical college for the deaf in their book, "From Dream to Reality: The National Technical Institute for the Deaf".
