Item Description

Is your high schooler working on a college application essay? Are you looking to make your cover letter stand out? If you or a loved one needs to submit some writing for any kind of application, get some professional assistance to jumpstart the process and put on the polish with this start to finish essay tutoring with EllaRose Chary!

All essays start with a face to face meeting where EllaRose helps the student come up with a topic that highlights what makes him/her unique. Before the meeting, EllaRose sends students the Essays That Sing Questionaire, which helps her understand more about the student's experiences and interests. This allows EllaRose and the student to find a personalized topic together. Often the ideas students think are the most original are the most overdone! After the meeting, the student then writes a draft, and EllaRose gives feedback either via email or in person. Most essays need 3-5 drafts, on which EllaRose gives detailed feedback from concepts to structure to line-editing. However, students have different needs, so she will work with students and parents to come up with a timeline and process that works best for them.

EllaRose holds a B.A. with honors from Brown University and an M.F.A. in Musical Theatre Writing from New York University. She has been writing professionally since 2003, when she started as a columnist for the Post-Tribune newspaper. She is a frequent contributor to the MTI Marquee Blog, and her theatrical work has been performed all over the United States.
