Seersucker Appreciation Club has provided this bow tie called the Nautical Wheeler.
Founded on a sultry Sunday afternoon in the heart of the Crescent City, mere days before Hurricane Isaac made landfall, the Seersucker Appreciation Club was established out of necessity on August 26, 2012. Envisioned as an outlet for fine young Southern gentleman to convene and discuss important issues of sport, leisure, travel, academics, business and the pursuit of gentleladies.
Concluding the final day of events during the 1st Annual Seersucker Weekend held over the course of August 24, 25 & 26 in the birthplace of Seersucker - New Orleans, LA - three young men of reasonable note sat beneath the trees on a small patch of neutral ground after an exhilarating, tie-breaking match of Bocce Ball to decide who would be crowned the 1st "Commissioner of Seersucker". These three wise men saw a niche and a need that was missing in the world, a club dedicated to the summer fabric that looks almost as good as it feels and the traditions which it accompanies. These men decided to found a club to celebrate that fabric. The Seersucker fabric. The Seersucker tradition.
Upon mutual agreement not to be selfish with this dream of expression, they concluded that they must open the doors to all who appreciate and share their love for this timeless Southern classic. We are pleased to welcome all to celebrate and join us. Although with the coming of every Autumn, the shade of sadness will fall over our hearts and closets; we rejoice knowing that the next season is not that far away and Seersucker is always in fashion in our eyes and at meetings of the Seersucker Appreciation Club. Where two or more members of the Seersucker Appreciation Club are gathered, Seersucker shall be in seasonal session.
