Item Description

Thank you to internationally-renowned photographer Jason Lang for this dramatic image of downtown San Francisco. Jason has a stunning array of work to his credit; here's more about it:

Jason Michael Lang is an award-winning photographer and Creative Director at Artisan Press, a Hong-Kong based digital publishing company and publisher of the Origins of Luxury iPad App series (due for release in 2014).

Critically-acclaimed and currently ranked as one of the Top 25 Travel Photographers Right Now by Complex.com, JML has spent the past decade traversing the globe from his Bangkok base to capture some of the world's most interesting people and exotic destinations. His work, a cinematic twist on classic reportage, features regularly in the pages of Monocle, Wallpaper, DestinAsian, Conde Nast Traveller UK, The Boston Globe, The Australian and Time Magazine. His latest assignment finds him in Japan tracing the roots of the artisanal sake industry from Okinawa to Hokkaido.

In 2008, JML photographed the Italian Trade Commission-sponsored 350-page coffee table book, Hand of the Artisan: the Soul of Italian Luxury, a photographic tome which examines Italy's sartorial and design heritage. This once-in-a-lifetime experience led him inside the rarified workshops and wood-paneled ateliers of the country's most distinguished fashion houses.

In addition to his editorial clients, JML also works with many international fashion, design and hotel groups including AvroKo, WINKREATIVE, Salvatore Ferragamo, Brioni, Hirsch-Bedner & Associates, The Swire Group, The Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts, JW Marriott Luxury Group, COMO Hotels, and LVMH.

JML attended the University of Southern California and received his BFA in Still Photography & Digital Media. He has been based in Bangkok since 1998.

Thanks again Jason for providing your exquisite work to our auction this year!
