Flora Restaurant, located in the heart of swinging East Arlington, has been a favored local dining destination since 1996. The restaurant is located in the renovated Arlington Five Cent Savings Bank - a 1920's brick and granite exterior with dramatic barrel vaulted ceiling, two story windows and original mahogany vestibule. Simple, heartfelt foods cooked with a focus on nourishment and sensual pleasure are the essence of Flora. Chef Bob Sargent creates menus that draw on both American classics and the French and Italian influences of his professional training featuring fresh vegetables, grains, and local foods, especially seafood and farm products.

Somerville Theatre is celebrating 100 years! Located at 55 Davis Square in Somerville - (617) 625-5700. In 1990, the Fraiman family’s F.E.I. Theatres assumed operation of the Somerville, and with long-overdue renovations, successfully preserved the theatre’s venerable architectural integrity. Home to the annual Independent Film Festival of Boston, the Somerville distinguishes itself from the large theater chains by offering lower prices, great popcorn and ice cream, a fine beer and wine assortment, a superior presentation with well-maintained projection equipment and a staff of union projectionists who take pride in their work; and a staff and management with local roots taking pride in its mission, and a passion for the remarkable place that is the Somerville Theatre.
The world-famous, critically-acclaimed and much-loved Museum of Bad Art is housed in the theatre’s basement. Admission to the Museum of Bad Art is free to patrons of the theatre. The history of the Somerville Theatre is a 'must read'. Check out the website for a schedule of all the films, events and centennial celebration happenings!
The Capitol Theatre, located at 204 Mass. Ave., Arlington - 781-648-4340 continues its tradition of affording locals a steady mix of movies, with an emphasis on family-friendly films and independent productions. The majestic theater #1 and the historic lobby has a seating area suitable for relaxing before your movie with a cool ice cream. The Capitol features three REAL-D 3D movie screens and has the lowest priced 3D ticket in the area. Each of the 6 auditoriums is unique, decorated in the style of the original theatre with modern comfortable seats and stereo sound as well. The history of the Capitol is likewise a fascinating read.
