Item Description
Carl Larson is a renowned tole painter and instructor. Tole painting - the folk art of decorative painting on tin and wooden objects - began in Europe in the 15th century and was brought to America by German immigrants. A separate, related tradition occurs among Scandinavian countries and immigrants, but the patterns in the two traditions vary. Larson has taught tole painting for over 30 years, and currently offers classes through the Newark Adult School.
