Item Description
The Languedoc area of France, known for its great weather, historic sites and its huge wine industry, is the fastest growing area of the country. Consider getting to know this popular region from a stunning home base - a private home in a wine-growing village near Perpignan, just a 30-minute drive from the Mediterranean. Owned by Portland-based Alliance member Clara Steiner-Jay, the spacious 3-bedroom home (sleeps 6) features a large pool and walled garden. Visit the towns and historic sites nearby, including Carcassonne, Narbonne, le Canal du Midi, Perpignan, les Châteaux Cathares, Lagrasse, l'Abbaye de Fontfroide, Céret, Collioure, Tautavel. Arrive by air (Toulouse or Barcelona) or by train (Narbonne or Perpignan). There are many walking, hiking and biking paths accessible from the house! Arrange for mutually available dates with the donors.
Visit here for photos and an idea of the calendar. Use within a year of the auction date.
