Item Description
Breathtaking is the only word to describe this original artwork titled ''Wings of Progress'' by WXXI Auction New Featured Artist Sarah C. Rutherford. Completed with a combination of techniques, including watercolor, illustration and collage this one of a kind artwork commands your attention the moment you walk in the room. As an added bit of interest, the inside wings of the falcon, highlighted in the center of the artwork, feature pieces of the original blueprint for the Times Square Building from 1929.
Originally a Boston native, Sarah C. Rutherford has found herself in love with Rochester, NY. Through murals, installations and art pieces she has explored the broken pieces of this city though its discarded treasures and hidden worlds. Beyond murals and community based work, Sarahs illustrations have been featured in such magazines as Bon Appetite, New York Times Magazine, Esquire, Conde Nast Traveler, and more. Sarah is a member of the Sweet Meat Co. She is also the co-founder of The Yards, a collaborative art space above Cure & Javas in the Public Market. You can also see Sarah's murals around Rochester, including at Highland Hospital. This is a signed, numbered and unframed print. Dimensions: 18.5'' x 24''.
