Item Description

This original framed photograph was taken in Xian China in 2012. Chinese warriors are descending stairs on the Xian City Wall. The strong architectural character with the stone wall and diagonal stairs are enlivened by the soldiers with their red plumes symbolic of China.

Photographer Ward Thompson's photos have appeared in many American Institute of Architecture calendars, and he won their Bethune Award in 2001. He operates an architectural tour business in Los Angeles. Photos of many iconic architectural landmarks are featured on his web page.  In 2014, Ward's photos were exhibited at the Ebell Club in Los Angeles and CoMerge in San Diego.  He has an exhibit scheduled in December at the American Institute of Architects Los Angeles Chapter.
