Transform your living room into a 21st century "salon". Imagine the beautiful sounds of flute and violin filling your home as these two seasoned musicians put on a private salon concert for you and your guests. Flutist Lisa Edelstein and violinist Marcy Vaj will serenade you and your guests in the intimate setting of your home with a series of duets by various composers, including Bach, Mozart, Schubert, and Debussy.
Lisa Edelstein is a Hudson Fellow at the California Institute of Technology, and regularly performs with symphony orchestras in the Los Angeles Area, including the Pasadena Symphony, the Long Beach Symphony, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, the Los Angeles Master Chorale and Southwest Chamber Music.
Marcy Vaj has performed on hundreds of film scores including Shrek, Armageddon, As Good As It Gets and Prince of Egypt on which she also received an orchestration credit. Marcy is a founding member of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and was Sir Paul McCartney’s concertmaster for the 2012 Grammy’s. She also soloed in chamber music concerts for the Royal Wedding (2011) and the Queen’s Jubilee festivities (2012). She enjoys an active teaching studio and is an adjunct professor at Santa Monica College.
Ms. Edelstein and Ms. Vaj will perform a 60 minute recital choosing music from W.F. Bach, Mozart, Kuhlau, Schubert, Debussy, Hindemith, John Steinmetz, Alex Shapiro and Stephen Cohn.
Maximum traveling distance is 40 miles from downtown LA.
