Item Description

Meet artist Andy Goldsworthy and visit Ian Hamilton Finlay’s world renowned garden Little Sparta

Truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, escorted by deCordova Chief Curator Jennifer Gross.

Starting in historic and charming Edinburgh, you'll visit the National Museum of Scotland, enjoy first-class accommodations with your own luxury apartment, and dine at stellar restaurants like the Michelin-starred restaurant Mark Greenaway.

You’ll drive to the countryside for a special tour of Jupiter Artland, among the very best private sculpture parks in the world, which sits on a quite proper country estate and holds two major works by Andy Goldsworthy along with dozens of major pieces of contemporary sculpture. You'll meet collector/founder/big personality Nicky Wilson, and dine next to the "Great House"... in her converted airstream trailer.

You'll head into the Scottish highlands for a visit to Little Sparta, the spectacular garden created by artist Ian Hamilton Finlay, a hidden gem that has become influential to both gardeners and artists the world over. The trip will culminate with a rare and personal visit with internationally renowned artist Andy Goldsworthy in his hometown of Penpont, Dumfriesshire, staying at the charming Scaurbridge House Inn.

The artist will spend an afternoon taking the group on a walking tour of his works amongst the local hills, then join the winners for a private dinner prepared by Scaurbridge House’s owner Elizabeth Hughes.

Winning bid includes 8 days/7nights of first-class accommodations, all local travel, and gourmet cuisine. To allow you to make travel plans as you may prefer, airfare is the responsibility of the winner. This trip can be customized for the winner's interests to include items like golfing at St. Andrews, a scotch tour, etcetera.

The winning bidder may add up to two additional travelers for 40% of the winning bid per person.
