Item Description
Over the past six years former Executive Director of deCordova Dennis Kois has escorted museum patrons to unusual and exotic locales around the globe... New Zealand... Istanbul... London... Japan... Scotland... Tasmania.
For his last deCordova benefit trip, Dennis is offering the chance to travel to the most exotic locale of them all. That's right. His home state, Wisconsin!
For this trip for two, Dennis and his wife Stacey will meet you in Milwaukee for a long weekend visit to their new/old hometown this summer. You'll enjoy two nights at the Pfister Hotel, built in 1893 and ranked as one of the top 25 luxury hotels in the United States. You'll try Milwaukee food traditions that arose from Milwaukee's German heritage like frozen custard, Usinger's sausage, cheese curds, fish fries and local microbrews, and explore Milwaukee's booming foodie culture with visits to the local taverns, c.1880, and dinner at Sanford. Depending on the timing of your visit, we may visit Summerfest or one of the dozen or so ethnic festivals that attract hundreds of thousands to the Lake Michigan shore every summer (Festa Italiana, Polish Fest, Irish Fest, and more) for music, beer, dancing, and fun. We'll tour the Milwaukee Art Museum's stunning Santiago Calatrava-designed building and collections, Dennis' new "home" at the Milwaukee Public Museum, the Harley Davidson museum and maybe hit a Brewers game. Don't miss out! Because truly—when else are you going to visit Wisconsin?
