Item Description
The lucky winner and a guest will take a private tour of Mr. Soboroff's spectacular typewriter collection that includes vintage machines owned by authors Ernest Hemingway, John Updike, Jack London and Ray Bradbury and celebrities like Orson Welles, Greta Garbo, and Joe DiMaggio. Perhaps most famous of all is the typewriter John Lennon used as a boy in his aunt's house to write his earliest songs.
In an interview with Off-Ramp's John Rabe, Soboroff said that aside from owning a piece of history, he revels in discovering treasure within the typewriter cases like Joe DiMaggio's Master Card and old negatives that turned out to be pictures of a two-year-old Ernest Hemingway and his father.
As part of your tour, you and your guest will have the pleasure of typing on a historic machine of your choosing. Will it be the one that belonged to Tennessee Williams? Or maybe Andy Rooney's? Make sure to ask Steve about this one - He has quite a story about adding it to his collection.
Don't miss out on this thrilling once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience history and celebrity, up close and personal!
