ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME RIDE UP A PORT OF OAKLAND CRANE
- Item Number

Item Description
You’ve seen them countless times and have marveled at their enormity: the massive icons of the Port of Oakland, the giant cranes that inspired the “AT-AT Walkers” in George Lucas’ Star Wars. Aside from their resemblance to gargantuan geometric animals, the bayside cranes play a central role in the operations of the port: loading and unloading containerized cargo making its way to and from distant lands, and earning the port its reputation as the fifth busiest in the nation.
Strap on your hardhat and safety vest and get ready for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: ascending the crane! You and up to five guests will get the ultimate VIP treatment—private tour, elevator access, coffee with the manager, photos from on high—as you go where few have gone before. You will experience what it feels like to drive out in the crane, check out the engines and machine house, and see where the crane operator sits. Earn additional bragging rights when you see the San Francisco skyline from an unparalleled vantage point. This thrilling tour is not offered to the public!
