Item Description

All of this talk of the Kentucky Derby making you thirsty for some true Kentucky Bourbon?  Well, try some of this delicious Bulleit Bourbon. With a mash bill containing 30 percent rye, Bulleit Bourbon is made in a style common before Prohibition. Today, it has the highest rye content of any bourbon on the market. Aged a minimum of 6 years, this bourbon has a bold, complex flavor with a smoky and slightly sweet finish. Bulleit is interesting enough to drink straight, but holds its own as a potent cocktail base.

Why not contrast that with some good, old fashioned Western whiskey? This bottle of High West Whiskey from the High West Distillery in Park City, Utah prides itself on creating handcrafted, small batch spirits. They are Utah's first distillery since 1870. High West Double Rye Whiskey is the combination of two straight rye whiskeys - a bold, peppery two year old with a 95% rye and 5% barley mashbill, and a smooth, refined sixteen year old with a mashbill of only 53% rye and 37% corn. Named a "must-try for rye whiskey aficionados" by John Hansell of Whisky Advocate, High West Double Rye opens strong and spicy, but soon gives way to complex notes of mint, clove, cinnamon, licorice root, pine nuts and dark chocolate. A surprising note of gin botanicals merges with an undercurrent of caramel, vanilla and sweet corn on the finish.
