Item Description
Organization comes naturally for me (what my mom often jokes are my OCD tendencies) and has always been an important part of my daily functioning. Growing up, I kept my bath products in a separate basket so that my younger brother, who always left the caps off EVERYTHING, wouldn¿t get to them. Early on, friends asked me to help with their camp trunks and closets while boyfriends asked me to organize their CD's Before moving back to Boston a few years ago, I worked as a special education teacher and a social worker for 13 years in NYC. As a teacher, I created play spaces for children, allowing them to function independently which at home, helped make their parents¿ job easier. As a social worker, I helped parents and their children cope with a number of stressors, many of which impact the ability to organize...whether due to sensory processing difficulties or, for parents, the emotional triggers that make it so hard to remove the last baby toy from the closet or give away that booster chair. I think the biggest response I have received has been during my kids' play dates when opening the small pantry door (see photo) for a snack. What began as helping a few friends has turned into a small business in which I've organized kitchens, playrooms, children's bedrooms, and closets. For those interested, I would be happy to donate three hours of my time to come into the home and organize a space of their choosing.
