One lucky winner will have the chance to co-host Local Licks with Blues Hall of Fame local legend Sonny Rock! Local Licks high lights local musicians every Tuesday evening at the WRIP studio in Windham. One lucky winner will have the unique opportunity to join Sonny Rock in the studio during his show.
Sonny Rock's Summary
I work as a working & touring drummer with Mr. Tas Cru. (www.tascru.com) The Smokin' Aces Blues Band and vocalist Lex Grey & The Storm Front Band. I wrote a book, recorded several records, teaching drums, teach kick boxing.
Drummer Sonny Rock was born in New York in1961 and moved to Los Angeles in the early 1980’s. He played in original bands including actor Billy Wirth’s “Dust n’ Bones”. He played as house drummer at Hollywood clubs like The House of Blues, Whiskey Au GoGo, Spice Club, and China Club.
He has played drums behind many great artists including Bryan Adams, members of The Who, Kiss, Aerosmith, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Jones, The Cult, Peter Frampton, Leslie West, Robin Trower, Pat Travers, and Heart. He has recorded with members of The Cult, Heart, Jojo Gunn, and with Niki Hopkins for motion pictures.
He is now bi-coastal, drumming for Mr. Tas Cru (www.tascru.com) Mason Casey out of LA and The Smokin’ Aces, Lex Grey out of NYC., Rhett Tyler, George Fletcher, Nick Martin. Skeleton Crew, Full Throttle. A member of the Blues hall Of Fame. Judge for the International Blues Challenge (Memphis Tenn.) Judge for the Hudson Valley Voice.
