Item Description
This magnificent facsimile edition of a rare hand-colored 17th-century masterpiece by Basilius Besler is one of the most splendid works ever produced on ornamental flowering plants. The oversize botanical drawings are accompanied by the original captions rendered in exquisite calligraphy. Comes in its own slip case. Basilius Besler (1561–1629) was a respected Nuremberg apothecary and botanist, best known for his monumental Hortus Eystettensis.
