Private Culinary Package for 2 with Three Night Stay

Los Dos and La Hacienda Xcanatun are located in the heart of the Mayan world.

Located in a magnificent Colonial mansion, Los Dos is the first school in Mexico devoted exclusively to the cuisine of Yucatan and has been featured in Condé Nast Traveler, Travel & Leisure and Gourmet, and on PBS with Rick Bayless.

You’ll stay at 18th century Hacienda Xcanatún, which has been transformed into an exclusive small luxury hotel with individually decorated suites. Your spacious guest room has a large bathroom with soaking or hydrotherapy tub or shower, and veranda surrounded by tropical gardens. There is air conditioning as well as overhead fans, mini bar and safe deposit box. There are no TV’s in the suites – this is a place to switch off.

Breakfast is included each morning at Hacienda Xcanatun’s Casa de Piedra restaurant, located in what used to be the threshing room of the splendid 18th century hacienda.

On your first full day, you’ll join Chef Sterling for a five hour “Street Eats” experience. If you are intrigued by the colors and aromas of street foods but are too intimidated to try them, Chef Sterling breaks down the barriers as he leads you to some of the city's best stalls. In Yucatán, most people have the afternoon meal at a cocina económica – small, owner-run restaurants that often operate in the front rooms of family homes. All of these places feature down-to-earth, honest-to-goodness real regional food. Chef David Sterling will lead you to some of the best of the bunch.

The next day, you’ll enjoy a four hour cooking class with Chef Sterling in his own kitchen. Your class offers a sampling of Yucatecan cuisine, including indigenous ingredients, and cooking methods. You’ll have a culinary overview of Yucatán, then work into creating your own Yucatecan dishes.

You will also receive a signed copy of Chef Sterling’s cookbook: “Yucatan: Recipes from a Culinary Expedition”.

Must reserve at least one month in advance. The $10 USD hotel service charge per night is not included. Valid only from June 1 through September 30, 2014.
